Annapurna Base Camp, undoubtedly, is one of the best viewpoints in the world. It probably is the only place, where you can feast your eyes on the dramatic view of amphitheatre-shaped massif -‘The Annapurna Massif’. This 55 kilometer long massif containing one peak over 8000 meters, 13 peaks over 7000 meters and 16 peaks over 6000 meters is simply one of the best creations of nature.

The view of the panorama includes: Annapurna South, Bahara Shikar, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Hiun Chuli and views of the other sister peaks from base camp making it very much enticing.

 This Annapurna Base Camp trek, which is beautifully accompanied by the amazing variety of terrain including, lowland pastures, bamboo and rhododendron forests, alpine scrubs and the culturally and artistically rich hillside villages will give you a life changing experience.

 Starting in Nayapul, we walk all the way through Tikhedhunga, Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrong and Deurali to the Annapurna Base Camp. The clockwise route continues through Bamboo, Jhinu Hot Spring, Landuk and ends at Pothana.

  1. 09:00AM Day 1: Arrival day (1,300m/4,264 ft)

    Welcome to Kathmandu – the capital city of Nepal. Today is your first day with Bucket List Adventure Travel. Therefore, we send one of our company representatives to receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), who will further escort you to a tourist standard hotel. If possible, we also schedule a meeting at our office for the briefing regarding the trek followed by an introduction session with other team members (especially Sherpas and guides). Today, we also arrange a welcome dinner in one of the most popular local restaurants, where you can also enjoy the ethnic dance and cultural music along with great Nepali food. If your flight arrives late, both the meeting and the dinner can be scheduled for the following day.

  2. 07:30AM Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft)

    The capital, Kathmandu valley itself, is a big storehouse of exclusive natural, cultural and historical sites. Therefore, today, we take you on a few hour tours to the major attractions of Kathmandu valley. After spending few hours observing these wonderful sites, we again meet for a few hours to finalize your clothing and trekking gears (down jacket, trekking boots, sleeping bags etc.) required during the trek. The night will be spent at a hotel in Kathmandu.

    (Highlights of the day: World Heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square (a historical structure offering architectural wonders), the Pashupatinath temple (a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva- lord possessing the power of destruction), Swyambhunath and Boudhanath (a Buddhist shrine dedicated to Lord Buddha- Light of Asia.

    Optional site:Another World Heritage site ‘Patan Durbar Square’ along with other historical masterpieces like Mahabouddha Temple, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple and Kumbeshwor Temple.)

  3. 07:30AM Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft) 6-7 hours

    Today, in the morning our guides will come to pick you up at your hotel and escort you to the bus station to catch an early morning, comfortable tourist bus to Pokhara. The bus will head towards the west of Kathmandu Valley and continue the journey towards the western part of Nepal following the Prithvi Highway along the Trishuli river. The bus will stop twice – one for breakfast and one for lunch and then continue until we reach Pokhara. The evening can be utilized to explore the lake area. The night will be spent at a tourist standard hotel in Pokhara.

    (Highlights of the day: Comfortable tourist bus, windy highway along the Trisuli River, breathtaking view of waterfalls, rivers, jungles, hamlets higher up on the hills, terraced fields with seasonal crop, different vegetations, curious faces of people running motels, restaurants and lodges, Lake area in Pokhara.)

  4. 07:30AM Day 4: Drive to Nayapul & trek to Tikhadhunga (1,540m/5,052ft) By bus 2 hours and 4-5 hours walking

    Today is the first day of the trek and our destination is Tikhedhunga. First we drive from Nayapul to Pokhara. On reaching Nayapul after two hours drive, the luggage is prepared for the porters. After a short pre-trek preparation the ultimate walk starts following the south bank of the Modi River towards Birethanti. In Birethanti, we complete the check in formalities at the ACAP office, then the trail leads us towards Bhurungdi Khola, pass Lamdawali, Sudame and Hile, a few waterfalls and finally all the way up to Tikhedhunga after about two hours walk. The night will be spent at a lodge in Tikhedhunga.

  5. 08:00AM Day 5: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3,194m/10,479ft) 6- 7 hours

    Today is the second day of the trek and our destination is Ghorepani. A long uphill climb through more than 3000 stone steps will finally take us to Ulleri. A gentle ascent from here through the Rhododendron and Oak forest, passing Banthanti and Nangge Thanti will finally take us to the destination of the day, Ghorepani. Ghorepani is a gateway to Poon Hill, which is the best sunrise view point in the Annapurna region. The night will be spent at a lodge in Ghorepani.

    (Highlights of the day:  Thousands of stone steps, Ulleri – a large Magar village which offers magnificent view of Annapurna South and Himchuli, rhododendron and Oak forest of the conservation area, spectacular view of Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri from Ghorepani,  health posts, schools, police check post, Stupas, temple and internet cafes at Ghorepani along with chilly weather.)

  6. 08:30AM Day 6: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2,590m/8,497ft) 5-6 hours

    Today is the third day of the trek and our destination is Tadapani. Today we wake up earlier than usual to catch the first ray of the sun striking the mountains. For this, we hike up to Poon Hill (3,193m), enjoy the view of sunrise, spend some time taking snaps and get back to the lodge at Ghorepani. From here, the trail heads east, passing Deurali pass and Ban Thanti towards Thulo Odar Kharka through rhododendron forests. From here, a steep descent and a short climb will finally take us to Tadapani. The night will be spent at a lodge in Tadapani.

  7. 07:30AM Day 7: Tadapani to Sinuwa (2,340m/7,677ft) 6-7 hours

    Today is the fourth day of the trek and our destination is Sinuwa. From Tadapani a steep descent through the rhododendron forest will lead us towards the suspension bridge passing perfect terraced fields and a few waterfalls. We cross the suspension bridge over Kimrong River, walk a few miles up and downhill passing Taulung to reach Chhomrong, which is a beautiful Gurung village situated on the lap of the giant Annapurna massif. Leaving this beautiful village we descend following the stone steps trail, cross the bridge across Chhomrong River and finally climb up to Sinuwa.  The night will be spent at a lodge in Sinuwa.

    (Highlights of the day: Rhododendron forest, terraced fields, waterfalls, Kimrong and Chhomrong river and a suspension bridge across these rivers, Chhomrong Village- a beautiful Gurung village, Gurung lifestyle)

  8. 08:00AM Day 8: Sinuwa to Deurali (3,230m/10,597ft) 6 hours

    Today is the fifth day of the trek and our destination is Deurali. We start with an easy walk from Sinuwa that continues till Bamboo passing Kuldhigar. Then a long steep stone staircase will talk us to Dobhan crossing a suspension bridge. The trail is accompanied by Bamboo, Rhododendron and Oak forest. Then a steep climb continues through the valley towards Himalaya and  Hinku cave and finally we reach Deurali. The night will spent at a lodge in Deurali.

  9. 08:00AM Day 9: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,549ft) 5 hours

    Today is the sixth day of the trek and we finally reach the actual destination of the trek, the Annapurna Base Camp. A gentle climb through the trail along the Modi Khola will first take us to Bagar. From Bagar a strenuous hike will first take us to the base camp of Machhapuchhre (3,700m). After resting here for about an hour taking snaps and enjoying the view of Machhapuchhre along with other snow capped peaks towering above 7000 and 8000 meter, we follow a wide trail that leads us to Annapurna Sanctuary. We then finally reach our destination, the South Annapurna Base Camp that greets us with 360 degree vista of snow covered peaks. The night will be spent at a lodge in Annapurna Base Camp.

  10. 07:30AM Day 10: Base Camp to Bamboo. (2,340m/7,677ft) 6 hours

    Today is the seventh day of the trek and our destination is Bamboo. After enjoying the mighty Annapurna Sanctuary, we retrace the same trail that drops down to Bagar, Deurali, Dobhan and finally to Bamboo passing temples, cave, waterfall and finally across the bridge through the same rhododendron, oak and bamboo forest. The night will be spent at a lodge in Bamboo.

  11. 07:30AM Day 11: Bamboo to Jhinu (1,780m/5,839ft) 5 hours

    Today is the eighth day of the trek and our destination is Jhinu Danda. We first walk up to Kuldighar and then  retrace down to Chhomrong passing Sinuwa. From Chhomrong a vertical downhill walk will finally take us to Jhinu Danda. About 15-20 mins downhill walk from Jhinu Danda will take us to a hot spring bathing pool where we relax our tired muscles. The night will be spent at a lodge in Jhinu Danda.

  12. 07:30AM Day 12: Jhinu to Landruk (1,640m/5,380ft) 2:30-3 hours

    Today is the ninth day of the trek and our destination is Landruk. This morning you can again go and enjoy hot spring. We start with a walk down the valley, cross the bridge, Himal Pani cross one more bridge and finally reach Landruk. Landruk is a Gurung village. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the village. The night will be spent at a lodge in Landruk.

  13. 07:30AM Day 13: Landruk to Pathana (1,890m/6,200ft) 3-4 hours

    Today is the tenth day of the trek and our destination is Pothana. From Landruk enjoy the view of whitewashed stone houses and temple, walking on the stone staircase to the bottom of the hill at Bhaisekharka. Then a vertical climb through the forest will take us to Pitam Deurali from where you can enjoy the farewell view of Annapurna South and Hiun Chuli. From here, following the stone paved trail, we walk down to Pothana. The night will be spent at a lodge in Pothana.

  14. 07:30AM Day 14: Pathana to Pokhara (820m/2,690ft) 3 hours

    Today is the last day of the trek and our destination is Pokhara. We start from Pothana and then an easy walk will take us to Dhampus village. From Dhmpus village, the trail drops down to Phedi passing a small lake. From Phedi we drive to Pokhara. The evening can be spent either with the crew member or exploring the city. The night will be spent at a tourist standard hotel in Pokhara.

  15. 07:30AM Day 15: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 7-8 hrs drive (1,300m/4,264 ft) 6-7 hours

    Today, from Pokhara we catch a tourist standard bus to Kathmandu. Leaving Pokhara we head east toward the capital city, Kathmandu. After 7 hours of driving all the way through Prithvi Highway, we reach Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu you will be escorted to your hotel, where you can freshen up and rest for some time. Around the evening, the company representatives conduct a short meeting to discuss the trip, your experience and the feedback. By the time dinner will also be ready. The night will be spent at a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu.

  16. Day16 Day 16: Departure day

    This day is the last day of your trip in Nepal with Bucket List Adventure Travel. If your flight is scheduled early morning, then one of our company representatives will escort you to the airport as per your flight departure time. But, if the flight is scheduled later in the evening, you can go shopping and collect a few mementos or simply hang around shopping areas in Kathmandu. However, if you are planning to spend some extra days in Nepal, Amigo Treks and Expedition can also make the arrangements for some other top adventurous activities that you can attend while you are in Nepal.

    (The usual day for a trek: Every day, our guides will come to wake you up at around 7:00-7:30am. In case of special days like sunrise viewing days our guides will wake you up early in the morning at around 4-4:30am.  A western breakfast like porridge, oats, toasts, etc. will be served at around 8:00-8:30am. The lunch will be served from a teahouse menu at about 12-1pm. However, the lunch time can also be postponed on request. The dinner will be served at around 8:30-9:00pm. Your accommodation is arranged at a lodge or also in a tourist standard hotel (subject to availability) where we stop for overnight.

    While you are walking, you can also request your guide to slow down and stop at the places where you want to take some snaps. After dinner and before going to bed your team leader will brief you regarding the next day’s schedule.

Accommodation in Kathmandu is at the Apsara Boutique Hotel. This friendly and very spacious hotel lies in the center of trekking city aka Thamel! There is a relaxing spa attached to the hotel to unwind and relax and is perfect for a post trek massage

Along the trek you will stay in comfortable lodges and Tea houses. These do change depending on the time of year you visit but all are on a twin sharing basis unless stated.
